Southport Presbyterian Christian School is a ministry of Southport Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Glover - Latin

8th Grade Latin

We study Latin to understand the classical roots of our own language and culture. Ancient Greek and Roman culture provides the foundations of our own society, especially our literature and law, our understanding of economy, class, military power, and social relationships, and the history of our language. More importantly for our school, however, the study of ancient Rome especially improves our understanding of the Bible and the birth of Christianity. What we learn in Latin about daily life in ancient Rome helps us understand the world of the New Testament and the early church.

Assignments

Daily assignments for the Latin class are available online at on the SPCS Latin Class Assignment Calendar.  NOTE: The assignment is due at the beginning of class on the date that it is listed on the calendar.)
